A Career In Search Engine Promotion Is Very Rewarding But Must Be Carried Out Properly To Achieve Long Term Business.
Building up a portfolio of clients in the Online Marketing or search engine optimization industry takes a significant amount of time. This is due to the intensive requirements for a new client in the first stages of the optimization process. In order for long term business to be realised you customer will want to see a considerable result from the services that you give, and that of course means that you have to get the initial work perfect. There is absolutely no point in cutting corners on this first stage as it will come back to bite you. Getting the wrong keywords on page one of the Search Engine Placement results is about as usless as being on page 6 for the best ones. Both of these scenarios will result in no extra trade for your customer and therefore their inclination to stay a long term customer of yours will be low.
So there is the requirement to conduct the initial keyword research well, once this is done the promotional work can actually take a big percentage of your time too, meaning that if you are dealing with three or four new clients well you are pretty much working full time. Of course if you already have some of those long term customers under your belt then you are not under too much pressure. Normally you will not get paid by customers until you have achieved page one status for their keywords. So if you are already there with existing clients, these will sustain you whilst you put the time consuming effort into your new clients. Again, another good reason for getting everything correct, this role simply will not stack up if you do not aim for long term business relationships all the way through.
Of course there are those who will function in a less than ethical way and who will brag about their instantaneous results, unfortunately some clients are sucked in by these people. All that happens here is that the immediate con or short cut is finally overcome by the search engines and the client’s website sinks without a trace. The unethical optimizer then looks for the next quick fix.
Rather than fritter away time and effort finding new tricks and short cuts the simplest and easiest thing to do is do it right from the word go. That way, although there is a bit of a slow build up in earnings, once you have got the site up there, you can ease off a little and add in a new client. One of the best ways to do this is to actually work it around another job in the initial stages if you can. A good Website Optimization Company should take on a client at a time, wait until you get them on to page one for a lot of their keywords and then go onto a maintenance plan with them, while bringing in a new client.
Sooner or later, if you go for the long term business, you will arrive at a stage where you are able to leave your old employment behind and take on the position full time, non paying new clients being supported by existing clients happy with your service and making use of the rewards.
